This is the radio I fly everything with. 9 Channels and infinite programmability make this a top notch radio for everything from Simple 2 channel planes, 6 channel CCPM helicopters and complex multi flight phase DLGs & Gliders.

Mine has the synthesized transmitter module which allows me to tune to any of the available frequencies to match my aircraft as needed. I try and stay on Ch. 46, but every so often at big events the need to switch can happen and I'm set. Great battery life and awesome ergonomics make this a treat to hold while flying. You can rotate the gimbals to match the angle your fingers or thumbs need to get good straight up and down motion out of them.

At fist glance the radio is intimidating. It took me a good 2 days worth of playing around with the programming, reading forum posts and many how-to guides to get the hang of the programming for it. But once I "Got It" there was a whole new world of adjustability opened up. Any function can be tied to any switch, so you can customize the radio to fit the way you want to fly, not the other way around like most radios out there today.

A great safety function of this radio with the scanner module installed is when you turn it on, it will alert you that someone is already transmitting on your frequency! This disables the internal radio until it gets a clear signal which keeps you from being the guy that shot someone down. All radios should have this in the 72mhz band, its great.
