T-Rex 600 Canopy - Fusion-Pack
I was given a Trex 700 sized Nitro canopy to copy the basic style and modify on a 600 sized canopy.
Modififcations were to add the Companies logo in the canopy area instead of the "ALIGN" logo. This is going on an electric 600 sized canopy so it needed to say "Trex 600" instead of 700, and he wanted "Fusion Pro" instead of Nitro Pro. Fusion-Pack being his battery company.
The 700 Sized canopy I was to copy the style from...

Had a serious issue with the Green on this canopy. Started to get some fisheye in the clear only in that area. When sanding it down I had an adhesion failure on the green, the paint I grabbed was old (5months or so) already reduced in a bottle. I just shook added some reducer and sprayed. Bad idea. It didn't dry properly and gave me some issues spraying as well, but I pushed on. When I sanded it once cleared I punched through to the green almost immediately. The rest of the job was sanding well, and no apparent adhesion problems. I sanded the green completely off, clear, green and all down to base. Remasked that portion, sprayed fresh green and re-cleared. Can't tell and looks great... Damn old paint!
Canopy was painted using the DeVilbiss Dagr Airbrush. Paints used were Auto-Air Basecoat Sealer white, Auto-Air Semi Opaque Red, Yellow and Black, Auto-Air Pearlized Silver, Auto-Air Black, and Black Cherry candies. Createx Florecent Green. Jacquard Macropearl was added to the first coat of clear. Clearcoat was U-Pol System 20 (2882) HV European Clear 4:1.
