New Site?

So after finishing yet another site for a friend I felt it was time to give my old site an update.

The old site was doing what I needed it to but I wanted to bring it into this centrury. The old site had been around since February of 2005 and hasn't changed very much since then.

In Late 2005 I tried to put the site into a content manager so I could keep it up to date without coding and just overall make things easier on me, but that was a disaster. Not enough options w/o modification to core etc, so I brewed up my own dynamic site for the time being. Fast forward a few years, Joomla is a more mature product, and much more configurable. I'll give it a shot!

I had some articles posted to my old site, but had created a few more on different forums etc. Those never made it to the old site due to the hassle of having to code each page etc.

I've created about a dozen or so Joomla! based sites over the past couple years and have really taken a liking to the robustness of the CMS (Content Management System). Recently after redesigning our corporate intranet at work and migrating everything into a Joomla! based system, and creating a couple of sites for friends I decided that I should put some effort into a redesign for myself using the same CMS.

On the latest Joomla! sites I created, I also created an admin template that has a nice clean look and feel, yet still keeping the robustness and familiar locations of the Standard Khepri template. I figured I would use my own site as the testbed to develop out that template a bit more as well.

I've developed a few components that I've used on our intranet site and have some ideas for some helpful components and modules that I will develop out in this new environment and may release is there is a need for them.

I also decided to add a blog section and try and collect the more interesting things going on or thoughts as time goes on.

Thanks for visiting, and check back soon!
